Hello brothers and sisters in the faith. I hope you are all doing well and that you’ll take a few minutes to read this ministry update and request for help.
First off, ministry has continued to be very good. God has given us many opportunities to share the Gospel around the Bay Area. I love the work, and I’m truly blessed to have the privilege of sharing God’s word in the public square. I’ve attached some recent pictures below, that I hope will encourage you. Also, in answer to many prayers, we are much closer to reaching out to local families through neighborhood kids Bible clubs. We are partnering with a couple of local churches, including my own church, in getting those clubs going. We’ve had a couple kids meetings in one neighborhood already (though we’re still trying to find an ideal location), and our next meeting, in another neighborhood, is planned for about three weeks out, after I get back from our OAC director’s conference in Boston. Please pray God blesses that time, and gives us guidance for future work.
But the ongoing dilemma is our need for support. As a family, we are not in desperate straits. God has promised to supply daily bread, and He has always done so. When we have had financial needs, he has often provided extra work for Becky and for me. But after more than two years with Open Air Campaigners our monthly support is still going up very slowly, and we’ve been hovering at around a 35% support level for over a year. That means I’m having to spend what I believe is far too much time in the secular workforce, rather than concentrating on the ministry that God has called me to, and Becky is having to continue picking up extra work (I couldn’t do this ministry without her!) And though God has been faithful in providing money-making opportunities, without the distraction of side jobs there is so much more that could be done. And that’s where I’m hoping you can help.
So, am I asking you to give financially? Maybe. What God has called you to give, if anything, is between you and Him. You may not be able to give financially, or you may already be giving to God’s work elsewhere. But you can pray, and I would ask you all to pray for us regularly. I’ve listed some specific requests below, some financial, some not. All of evangelism is spiritual warfare, so we always need prayer. You can also let other people know about Open Air Campaigners, and what we do. There are other people and churches we might be able to encourage and equip for the work of the Gospel, and others who are able to give. So please pass on our information (I’ve attached an information sheet) to your church pastor, elder board, missions committee, or other churches you know. And finally, please do consider supporting us financially, if you are able. If you or someone you know would like more information, I’d love to talk with you by phone, or over a meal or a cup of coffee. Just send me an email and we’ll set up a time.
