My name is Dan, and I’m a fifty-something man with a passion for the gospel of Jesus Christ. I’ve been a believer in Christ since my teens, and since then I have had a strong interest in apologetics, theology and philosophy. In fact, thinking about and discussing the tough questions about and objections to the Christian worldview are my favorite things to do. Such discussions are always interesting, and the conclusions we draw regarding them are a matter of life and death. There is nothing more valuable that anyone could possibly talk about than who God is, what He did through Jesus Christ, and the issues surrounding those questions. That is what this blog is about.
In 2008 I attended an evangelism boot camp in southern California called the Ambassador’s Academy. That training dramatically changed my life, and I believe was my calling to public evangelism. Sharing the gospel in public, something I had little or no desire for before, became my greatest joy. For those of you who say “That’s not my gift”, I encourage you to step out in faith to share the gospel in public anyway. If you are too scared to do so yourself, contact me, or ask a brother or sister in Christ to go with you. If you’re not local, I have contacts around the country, and there is a good chance that I could get you in touch with someone in your area. Even if you are not called to be an evangelist, all Christians are called to evangelize, and you’ll be amazed at the way He works, if you will just step out in humility, and obedience!
By God’s grace, evangelism is no longer just my passion, but is also my job. I am a missionary working with Open Air Campaigners, a mission board focused on public evangelism. I planted and direct a new mission branch, to serve and reach out to Northern California. I love the work OAC does, and couldn’t even imagine a better job.
I also have an amazing family. I am the primary evangelist, but I could not do what I do without their love and support. I have been married to my lovely wife Becky for almost 26 years, and we have two daughters. Naomi is 22 and Melody is 17. We are all very involved in our church, The Home Church in Campbell, CA. I am very blessed!
Below I have posted pictures and videos from a number of projects and outreaches I have been involved in. I’ve also added a link so you can download an information sheet about what we are doing with Open Air Campaigners in the Bay Area. If you are a believer in Christ, I hope they will be an encouragement to you to step out of your comfort zone and share your faith. Only a few years ago I had trouble even handing a tract to someone, and had no desire to be a street evangelist, much less an open-air preacher. It is ONLY by his grace and by the power of His Spirit that I am able to do what I do. Believe me, if He can use me in the ways He has, He can use you as well. And what an incredible privilege it is to be used by God for His work!!
